My Approach to Helping

Have you lost your footing? Someone you love? I specialize in grief and loss counseling, including bereavement, divorce, pregnancy, childhood losses, and the effects of neglect. Losses of any kind can leave you feeling groundless and uncertain. Unattended losses are often the seeds for depression, anxiety, and unwanted behaviors. They can leave you feeling separated from the world and disconnected from the people you love. I would like to guide you through the process of grieving and healing, towards a life full of joy and purpose.

More Info About My Practice

I am comfortable working within your spiritual framework, and sometimes include relaxation training, guided imagery, meditation, and expressive arts when appropriate. I am fully trained in EMDR, a researched-based treatment that can greatly relieve the negative effects of traumatic experiences.
I facilitate "Mothering Ourselves," a nine-week psychotherapy group for mothers who need mothering. I also provide a suportive therapy group for mental health professionals who work with trauma.
