My Approach to Helping

Therapy should do more than provide comfort and support - it should help people change. People come to therapy wanting something to be different and better. They should leave therapy having attained that. I like to show people tools that they can use for the rest of their lives to help them stay emotionally fit and at their best - whether those are personal strategies for the relief of emotional distress or strategies that will help them expand into their greatest potential, or interpersonal strategies that will enhance their marriages, their relationships with their children or with others. I use cutting edge interventions that work deeply and quickly to bring about profound change. However, the therapeutic process itself is collaborative, warm and even fun - laughter is always part of it! Although I bring skill and training and 30 years of clinical experience to the session, I also bring my SELF to work with you, one human being with another. My job is to walk with you, holding a light and a map to reveal new paths you could not see on your own.

More Info About My Practice

I have a special interest in parenting. I've authored the book "Raise Your Kids without Raising Your Voice" and created the website www.parenting-advice.net to provide support to parents everywhere. I love helping people to reduce parenting stress, improve parent-child relationships, establish healthy boundaries and guide their kids in creative, compassionate and kind ways.
