My Approach to Helping
My overarching approach is to help my clients reach their 'happy life goals' as determined by them. I see myself as a trained coach who can assist you with defining your strengths and problems. I work with clients to develop a step by step plan to reduce/eliminate pain involved with problems and focus on their strengths. I treat patients who have addiction problems, mood problems, anxiety problems, self-esteem problems, relationship problems, and problems related to stress. I am trained in a variety of treatment approaches and tailor the approach to match the individual client. The treatment approaches I use most commonly are solution-focused, Cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic, and existential. I believe the way you think affects how you feel. I believe your 'inner beliefs/inner truth' affects how you feel. I believe everyone has unique gifts and talents and can find a sense of purpose and belonging in this world.
