The foundation of my counseling is a gentle, client centered, non-judgmental approach allowing for the exploration of present moment experience and the discovery of limiting ideas and beliefs brought forward from the past. With acknowledgement and witnessing these extreme beliefs and emotions begin to soften and change. Enough space emerges for what was once an automatic reaction to become a response made with an awareness of choices. Overwhelming emotions, such as sadness, anger and fear, become manageable. Options and choices become apparent allowing for focus, clarity and effectiveness in all areas of life; physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. More Info About My Practice
I teach and practice mindfulness/awareness - the practice of compassionate presence. This somatic approach of tracking thoughts/emotions/sensations leads to a spacious relaxing of the body and calming of the mind, allowing for stress reduction and resolution of traumatically overwhelming emotional states. Everyone has a core compassionate and wise center. Here we are able to hold our experiences with an attitude of curiosity, calmness and clarity. Yet, these characteristics of our Being (true nature) are often obscured by extreme burdens of beliefs and emotions.
