My Approach to Helping
Psychotherapy can be an unforgettable journey of discovery, a way to restore meaning, vitality and purpose. Here is one way to think about how I do this work. Here is one way to think about what it is like.

I help break up log jams. People come complaining that the valley is dry; no water can flow due to a log jam upstream.
Together we examine the dam.
We dare not blow it up; the valley will be flooded, but it would take too long to remove random logs one by one.
We look, look, look for the structure holding up the logs.
We listen,. listen, listen for whatever that may rush in too swiftly, or to hear whether there is any water at all.
Then we begin to see the key logs that hold up the dam.
Together we decide to take them out, allowing the structure to give way slowly.

There are trickles of water; will there be more?

Sounds of rushing water, will it be too much?

Suddenly we are celebrating the ongoing rush of energy and life.
