My Approach to Helping
I offer help and support as you learn to draw on your strengths and resources to solve your problems. Together we identify those strengths and work collaboratively to insure that your goals are being met. I use feedback informed treatment measures including research based scales to insure that we stay on track to meet your goals. It has always been an honor for me to accompany people on their journey to self-acceptance, relief of symptoms, and improved quality of life and relationships.

More Info About My Practice
I use feedback informed treatment measures including research based scales to insure that we stay on track to reach your goals.

I am accepting new clients and have daytime and evening hours. I am an out-of-network mental health provider. At each session I accept payment in cash, check or credit card and will give you a receipt that you can use if you qualify for insurance or flexible spending reimbursement. My fee is $120/hour.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have successfully helped couples who are struggling with relationship issues and who feel stuck in negative interactions. Drawing on my specialized training in marriage and family therapy, I help couples improve their emotional connection as well as heal from past hurts and from mistrust. I also have a specialty helping individuals, couples, and families struggling with divorce. I have worked with couples through their decision process, with families trying to adjust to this family change, and with post divorce adjustment.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Research indicates that the most important factor in the success of therapy is the therapeutic alliance. In other words, if you feel connected to and respected by your therapist you are more likely to reduce the symptoms that brought you to therapy, to improve your functioning and your quality of life. I am always mindful of this alliance and use research based scales to check with you regularly to see if we are on track and that you feel I am being helpful. One of my strengths is the ease with which I make connections. We collaborate to insure that we are working toward your goals and that your style of learning and of making change is being respected. It is always an honor for me to accompany people on their journey to self-acceptance, relief of symptoms and improved relationships.
