My Approach to Helping

My approach is positive and I want to accentuate your strengths and abilities and help you see results over a short term of counseling, usually 3-6 sessions. I work with couples and families as well as individuals with emotional or behavioral struggles with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I have directed and supervised the outpatient addiction program at Turning Point Counseling Center for over 17 years and have 20 years of personal sobriety. I see many people with addiction or alcoholism concerns. I have been a clinical hypnotherapist for over 12 years. Hypnosis is often helpful to relieve past traumas, but I believe it is not necessary to drag people through painful past experiences to effect beneficial change in the present. Of course, the use of hypnosis is entirely at the discretion of each client.
