My Approach to Helping
Often people seek therapy to manage problems or understand what they are trying to cope with. My approach is a mirror into their thoughts and ideas, a place where they can see things from a different perspective. This method is used with individuals, couples, and families. It is individualized to the person based on what their needs are. When people can see things from a new way it reinvigorates them so they can plan and move forward with their lives.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Therapy is about the connection and if you do not feel that connection with your therapist in the first few sessions then it is important you find one that you can connect with. If you stay without a connection is can lead to a bad experience. Even excellent therapists sometimes just don't make that connection, it's always okay to try again somewhere where you feel encouraged, supported and safe.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

People attend therapy at all levels, some for severe family problems and others for a new and improved way of doing things. All people could use an impartial and supportive person to talk to. Some are lucky and have those kinds of friends and some don't want to share specific things with family or friends. Talking with someone who will not judge you is powerful and means you have strength not weakness. Asking for help when we need it is wisdom and not a flaw.
