My Approach to Helping
My approach to helping people is more than simply a philosophy, though it is that as well. Simply, in my work, I approach people with both respect and empathy as well as an ability to create a context of safety in order to explore and help change what is not working or troublesome in their lives. My process is generally interactive and collaborative, grounded in the belief in the ever-present possibility of personal growth, and involves: emotional support; sensitive inquiry; development of insight and self-understanding; feedback and/or providing guidance. I believe in the importance of people finding their own answers and, thus, individual treatment plans are developed collaboratively around people?s unique needs, personalities, and goals.
