My Approach to Helping
A thorough evaluation of a child's strengths and needs, leading to an accurate diagnosis precedes treatment.
I believe that parents and guardians are an essential part of the evaluation and treatment process. In-home, in-school, and office based counseling services are provided to children and adolescents with active participation and involvement of family members.

Medication management of behavioral and emotional symptoms is integrated into the treatment process, as needed.

Support of the entire family is critical to the treatment process.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

My past training in psychoanalysis has prepared me to address issues related to childhood Depression and lowered self esteem associated with Asperger's Disorder, Loss of parent figures, adoption and foster care, bullying, and physical conditions. Treatment of children with both ADHD and Autism has been a major focus of my practice.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

To alleviate a child's emotional pain, teach them to communicate openly, and maximize their full potential is the goal.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I went into this field to help children who suffer, often silently and alone, or who act out their pain in negative ways, to communicate their feelings of pain and loss they cannot yet express, and in so doing mature and grow. Seeing these children change this pattern of isolation and failure has been my passion.
