I believe that a child's emotional health is as critical to their success in life as their physical health and academic knowledge. Our youth today are exposed to extraordinary degrees of stress and are bombarded with complicated information while being expected to perform at unprecedented levels. Some are also attempting to cope with issues related to a mental health disorder. In spite of a sincere desire to succeed, many children are struggling, while others are giving up. Most can benefit from having a safe, supportive relationship in which they can feel free to express their feelings, gain necessary self-confidence and try out more effective ways of thinking and behaving. I offer this environment along with a structured approach, giving children and teens the optimal opportunity for healing and developing healthy coping skills. I also believe that even though well intended, many parents feel overwhelmed and lost when their child is struggling. I can offer support, a better understanding of your child's social and emotional needs and specific strategies to help.
