My primary theoretical orientation is psychodynamic, meaning that I work with the underlying unconscious and subconscious processes which are at the root of emotional pain. I often work within a framework in which it is believed that the determining influences of personality are environmental, biological and psychological elements of early relationships. Links are then provided to current experiences so that the client can increase his or her internal awareness and make new choices. However, In all instances, I do what is best for the client and his or her needs. I strive to provide a safe therapeutic environment. It is extremely important that you feel comfortable with me, or any therapist you work with, because these are the most important issues you face. When you have reached the point of deciding to come to therapy, you have decided to do something about your issues. You want to know that the therapist is someone you can trust. I work quickly and efficiently and do not believe that therapy must take years to be effective or long lasting. I will listen to you and provide feedback. I will let you make your own choices so that you will find your own way. You will develop your own inner strength and your own potential and your own authentic voice in the world.
