My Approach to Helping
My area of interest and expertise lies in the sphere of relationships; in particular, the relationship one has with one's SELF. I believe that this relationship, formed early in life, impacts one's ability to be fully present and engaged in relationships with spouses, partners, children, friends and colleagues. I am a non-judgmental and compassionate therapist and strive to provide an atmosphere in which you can safely explore and work through feelings, thoughts, images and beliefs, conscious or unconscious, that may be keeping you stuck in repetitive patterns. The theories that shape my practice draw on the strengths of Redecision Therapy, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT), Jungian traditions and mind-body centered philosophies. I tend to temper the process with creativity, imagination and humor, along with practical solutions and concrete goals. I work collaboratively with physicians, psychiatrists, nutritionists, body workers and kinesiologists to provide an optimum level of care.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Masters degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and over 18 years of comprehensive clinical experience. I have a rich and varied multicultural background and significant personal and professional experience with grief, loss, change, identity and belonging, mind-body health and issues related to the immigrant experience. I have lived, worked and studied internationally and bring a global and holistic perspective to my work.

I maintain a private practice on Main Street in Davidson and see adults, couples (in all stages of their relationship), teens, tweens and families. I work with divorced and single parents, blended families and people of every race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.

More Info About My Practice
If you've never seen a counselor or therapist before, you might be uneasy about seeing a "helping professional." While talking about personal and private matters may be a little difficult and awkward initially, most people find that they quickly adjust and become comfortable. As your therapist, I provide a safe, non-judgmental and nurturing environment to allow self exploration on the deepest level you choose and room to analyze and process whatever thoughts and emotions that might surface during therapy. Some people tend to want to find immediate solutions to their issues and concerns, while others choose to work over a longer period to experience deeper or more lasting shifts in their lives. Whatever your needs and goals, the most important criteria for all true growth, development and change is that you feel comfortable, accepted and understood by your therapist. You can expect to feel respected, listened to with care and compassion and be provided the utmost confidentiality. I have significant experience with a wide variety of issues and concerns and I would be happy to talk to you about your needs and to see if we appear to be a good match. Call 704-896-7705
