My Approach to Helping
I believe people occasionally become stuck repeating patterns outside their awareness. These experiences can be extremely painful and frustrating. We all need to "remap" ourselves from time to time. Therapy is about discovering new choices and knowing our habits of perception. I help clients discover how their outdated beliefs are blocking them from living more fully. I use several approaches; sometimes mindful, present moment experiencing and sometimes working directly with a client's cognitive perspective and understanding of the world. With all my work, I incorporate mind/body awareness and honor the client's view of the world. As a client, your willingness to explore new territory is essential in finding a fresh view. I do not work from a pathology model.

I take many different insurances and will work with you on a sliding scale, if needed. A free 30 minute interview is also offered.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy

The purpose of psychotherapy is to understand oneself, by this I mean to know how and what you do that limits your perception and choice. In other words, to shine a light into "blind spots". Therapy can open worlds and allow you to live more fully.
