My Approach to Helping
My treatment philosophy is to help integrate mind and body by self-regulation through the use of a variety of stress management techniques. In my experience, a problem-solving approach coupled with neurofeedback provides a person with more "emotional muscle" than talk therapy alone. This process is especially helpful for people with medical problems that have resulted in feelings of anxiety, and depression. Medical problems, particularly chronic pain, are often difficult to manage, so neurofeedback is useful to help to the body cope with the stress that comes with those ailments. I have used this combination for the past twelve years with some remarkable results.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
An active-directive approach appears to be most helpful to clients with trauma issues or relationship problems using psychotherapy alone. Teaching a person how to understand their own inner thought processes leads to new ways to solve what appears to feelings of being "trapped forever" in their current situation.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy provides more objective feedback that challenge old habits and empower people to be their own best "therapist" in a safe environment. Positive practice and self-talk is encouraged to solidify gains. Client learn to feel better, get better and stay better.
