My Approach to Helping
As a practical, interactive, client-centered therapist, my treatment approach is to provide support, evidenced based therapy, and feedback to assist clients to resolve current problems and long-standing patterns.

I help clients find their own personal solutions and healing sources, and develop their inner strengths to get through life's challenges.

Together we will work to enhance your life and further develop your unique strengths and talents to improve your relationships with others and with yourself. Everyone has the potential to grow, change and live the life that they truly desire.

My Role as a Therapist

“When your mind is mired in the mud, you can’t move forward, you can’t move backward. You’re bogged down in the ditch and see no way out, with no one to help." June Hunt
My role as a therapist is to provide an authentic, compassionate, non-judgmental, and confidential ear; all the while motivating, encouraging, inviting, acknowledging, reflecting, and promoting the client to their full and uninhibited potential. To enable clients to identify and remove obstacles that lead them in the wrong direction, and replace those obstacles with their own unique strengths, skills and talents that will facilitate a full and productive life.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

My own struggles have taught me a very valuable lesson. Each one caused me to reflect, change and grow. I must admit, some took me longer than others. As I look back through my life, I now understand that it is the struggles that I went and may still go through that continue to show me what I am capable of.

In addition, my struggles provided me with an understanding that all of life is a classroom. I can pay attention and listen to those who know, and will have a better opportunity to prevent some of life’s struggles; I can evaluate those struggles I did not avoid, and do better next time; and I can take what I learn(ed) and apply it to other areas in my life.

I realized I got more out of life when someone didn’t tell me what to do, but showed me how to do it, and trusted me that am I capable of achieving it on my own.
I understand that no matter how hard I try, I can't do it right all the time, and when I don't get it right, I want someone to still care about me, to see me for all of who I am, not just my mistakes. I want someone to lift me up, believe in me, help me to see my blind spots, trust me to work it out, and congratulate me when I do. This is what I work hard to provide for my clients each and every day.
