My Approach to Helping

I am a guide. I explore with you the goals you have and provide maps, strategies and possible paths to help you get there. I am a pattern seer and a certified behavioral pattern reader. Knowing what a person's pattern is gives direction to which threads in the weave may need to be changed or strengthened. Positive patterns require balance. Achieving balance is an implicit goal of therapy and life. I am a story teller and an asker of questions. I am experienced in life. I am seldom surprised and almost never shocked. Relationship--with self, with partner(s), with family, with the world--is the theme of my work. I am a student of human experience. I find that there are common patterns/themes/archetypes and there are infinite variations on those themes.

 

More Info About My Practice

I prefer self pay clients-individual or couples-- although I am able to accept insurances. My fees are reasonable. I offer workshops for couples in the Philadelphia, PA area and in Southern Vermont as well as seminars on Trauma in Relationships, Finding One's Self, etc. from time to time.

 

My Therapy Focus

I believe that we all weave patterns in our lives that either serve us well or hurt and limit us. Starting with basic materials--the loom of the genetics we are born with, the threads of the environment in which we are raised and live and the threads of undefined essence that is variously called the soul, the Self, the inner light, etc.--we create our individual patterns between the outer reality of the concrete world and of our private inner reality. When the threads become tangled, as they do for everyone from time to time, the resulting knots can be too close, too hidden by other threads, perhaps too complex to be clearly seen and understood by the one with the tangle.
