My Approach to Helping

My orientation is to be an active and compassionate partner in helping you to change your life, drawing on your strengths, resources and creativity. If you are needing help with taking steps to live a healthy, productive and meaningful life, I can help you. My style is conversational, personable, humorous. I have been privileged to have had a vast amount of experience with the wide range of life issues and emotional struggles that people bring.

I practice Social Therapy, a very effective group therapy approach to help people be more creative in life, to get un-stuck and to build richer relationships. The group is a place where we can bring our emotional pain (loneliness, anger, humiliation, depression) and create something new with it - new conversations, new meanings, new emotions, new lives. To the extent that we're focused on ourselves, we can't effectively use all of our creative, emotional and social resources. The group process is learning how to give emotionally and by doing so create environments in which we can get closer to the people we love.

Groups I Work With

I have 30 years experience with many diverse populations. In 2007 I partnered with Allison Caffyn to create The Couples College, a course designed to give partners the tools they need to create a solid and sustainable relationship built on love, respect and trust. The course offers an intimate setting for developing your relationship as well as learning how to use your differences to grow and become closer. We offer the course twice a year - in September and in February. Find us online at thecouplescollege.com
