My Approach to Helping

My view of psychotherapy is informed by my belief in the instrinsic strength and value of each human being. I believe that we are capable of making significant changes, especially when we have the support of being truly understood and validated.
My approach is to work with you on the goals you identify, and to find a path that will get you where you are going as quickly and effectively as possible. We work together to prioritize the goals and to establish the path - the entire process is collaborative.
A psychotherapist is someone who listens and responds with acceptance, empathy, and validation, providing the space for you to safely explore what is causing you stress, anxiety or sadness, or what may be stopping you from feeling fulfilled in life.
The process of psychotherapy allows you to learn more about yourself so that you can better understand your choices and make healthy changes where needed. Having a safe, supportive environment in which to explore your emotions and actions can help you see yourself and your life in a new light, and can assist you in taking positive steps in moving forward.
If you feel that I could be of assistance in helping you along your journey, please feel free to give me a call.

More Info About My Practice

I offer a free 15-minute consultation, which can be held over the phone, to make sure that we are a good fit together. I know many other therapists, and if I feel that one of them would work better with you, I will be happy to refer you to them.

My office hours are on Saturdays and one evening a week at this time.

Many popular health insurance companies cover the services of a Registered Social Worker (RSW), so please check with yours to see if it does.
