My Approach to Helping

Welcome. People seek therapy for many reasons. Often we are going through something difficult that causes emotional pain and we need to feel better. We want to feel whole, happy, and have a life that is balanced and fulfilling. Sometimes we keep ending up in the same relationship and life patterns despite our best efforts to change. You may want to feel better about yourself, or are struggling to accept changes and difficult life circumstances. Perhaps you have been suffering for too long with feelings of anxiety and depression that interfere with having the life you want. You likely want more from your life, yourself, and your relationships. I would like to help you live the life you deserve, and find emotional peace and clarity. In therapy, we explore your life through your dreams, memories, fantasies, beliefs, thoughts, and feelings-- in order to fully understand you together. We begin to piece together all that has happened in your life. We examine how the unconscious meanings you have made of your life experiences can guide your choices and responses in relationships, work, school, and life decisions. These meanings or beliefs are often outside of your conscious awareness, but can guide your choices in ways that might be problematic or self-defeating. I also offer specific skills for communication, anxiety relief, and better access to your emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. We collaborate together on helping you tolerate your emotions, and understand the unconscious reasons behind your choices. So that you can make more successful and empowered life decisions. Our aim is to create balance in your life, and help you live the life you deserve--one filled with abundance, fulfillment, and happiness. I am a Licensed therapist in private practice full time. In addition to my practice, I teach psychology classes at a local college. I am qualified to train and supervise therapist interns. I offer honest and thoughtful feedback; along with warmth, compassion, and guidance. Therapy with me is a long-term commitment to your well being, happiness, and personal growth.
