My Approach to Helping

Let's face it, life is hard enough with just the normal everyday concerns. There gets a point where your problems no longer seem manageable. Whether it's a kid not acting like their old self, feelings of sadness, anger or worries start to outweigh the positive things, or something bad/life changing happened, I can help. The end result of therapy is to work through and conquer these problems that can be too much to handle alone and ultimately have a better quality of life. More Info About My Practice

My office is located at Metis Counseling in Kansas City north land, by the I-29 and Barry Road intersection across from the entrance of Zona Rosa in the Barryview Building. I am in-network with many insurance plans. These include Aetna, BCBS, Beechstreet,Cigna, CompCare, Compsych, Coventry, Cenpatico, MHN, Tricare, Integrated Health Plan, Behavioral Health Systems, Humana, Magellan, Multiplan/PCHS, Wellpoint and other EAP plans. I also accept self pay (not involving any 3rd parties) and healthcare reimbursement cards. I would be happy to answer any questions via email or phone.

Groups I Work With

I enjoy working with children ages 3 and up as well as adolescents and adults. I have a lot of experience working with trauma, mental health concerns (like depression,
anxiety), and life transitions(changes in the home, family unit, health, school/work, etc). I am a Registered Play Therapist, providing play as a modality, along with specific structured activities that address the presenting problems as well as working with parents.
