My Approach to Helping

Entering into a counseling relationship can feel very vulnerable. Therapy should be a safe place where honesty and authenticity is honored. My work has taught me that stress is a common factor in most mental health issues. I work with my clients to create tools/skills for them to thrive in the face of stress. Past traumas can leak into current life and cause further stress. EMDR and other treatment modalities I utilize will help speed up your healing process and help you live in the present.
I assist people with many types of life transitions. Some of my clients are striving to reach the next level in their career. Others are working to determine what they want type of career to pursue. Others are working on issues that they feel like they keep coming face to face with, in every phase of their life.
Also, working with women who have had trauma related to pregnancy and childbirth, I help them to recover from past traumas as well as work towards having positive future experiences. I also work with athletes, such as runners, who want to improve their performance.
Helping my clients become more mindful leads to a heightened awareness of thoughts, beliefs and values that lead to their feelings. This awareness helps my clients better understand what triggers them and why.

I have a sliding fee scale. I am not currently accepting insurance. Call me for a free 20 minute initial phone consultation.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
My clients usually see me weekly, while others see me every two weeks. Therapy lasts between 6 weeks to several months or more. My clients decide when therapy is complete; however we do discuss this together at several points in the therapy process.
