My Approach to Helping
My passion lies in assisting and witnessing growth. Our therapeutic work may vary; short term concerns like "I need to learn how to talk to my boss," might be handled in a few sessions. While issues such as addiction, gambling or substance abuse, depression or anxiety...a desire to live a more fulfilling life, may take more time. The integrative nature of my work allows for family of origin explanations, without blaming, as a springboard to acknowledge and move toward growth and change.

It is my belief that loss, trauma, depression, and/or addiction often clouds our resiliency and wisdom. I will work with you to recognize your strengths while incorporating therapeutic tools. We can identify patterns and paths, which will likely move you towards a more satisfied life.

Several of my clients, throughout numerous non-profit and mental health settings in our community, have affirmed that our therapeutic relationship and "feeling heard" were powerful healing tools.

More Info About My Practice
Presently, I am an EAP (employee assistance program) provider for several organizations. I am also an in network provider for Aetna, Pacific Source and Reliance Behavioral Health Network. I am an out-of network provider and provide receipts for reimbursement. I encourage clients to contact their insurance company to determine eligibility for reimbursement.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

I believe strongly in therapy as it begins the process of people taking responsibility for change in their lives--not for what happened to them, but rather, that they are willing to get help to walk through it and get to a healthier place. Starting psychotherapy demonstrates willingness and openess; two of the most vital steps of empowerment and growth. Once we are able to observe our individual and family of origin patterns we can create space for choice and freedom.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

"The space between stimulus and response is the space of freedom" Victor Frankel. Nature has taught us to respond and sometimes react. For a multitude of reasons this has been how we survived. To be willing to observe, learn and grow is a sign of strength. I congratulate folks when they seek treatment and am often in awe of their resilience.
