My Approach to Helping

Conscious Living Psychotherapy helps individuals and couples work through unconscious emotions and psychological patterns that limit and sabotage individual growth and happiness. When working with Mary a safe and nurturing relationship is created through empathic and intuitive attention to the concerns and problems of each client. Together with the client a therapeutic container is established to enable the client to work effectively on imbedded emotional patterns. Through greater self awareness the client experiences significant realizations/breakthroughs and begins to feel the peace and empowerment associated with self understanding and less dependence on managing the perception of others. After working with Mary, clients claim they experience a stronger sense of themselves, an ability to recognize complexes as they are triggered, and a greater awareness of their capacity for change and how to make those changes. This kind of self-work produces a centered and grounded ability to be more objective when faced with stressful situations, and an increased capacity to stay present with feelings that have been avoided in the past. From both personal and professional experience Mary recognizes the commitment and sacrifice needed to do the inner work that leads to an integrated and balanced sense of self. When a person reaches a point in their life - whether at quarter-life, mid-life or even very late in life - and they can no longer avoid the emotional and psychological challenges that hinder their ability to be happy and fulfilled - working with a skilled talk therapist can make all the difference.
