My Approach to Helping
Are you facing a new or difficult situation? Do you feel "stuck"? You may be riding the waves of divorce, midlife shifts, career change, or loss. Perhaps a relationship is at risk? These concerns and others, such as depression, anxiety, fear, past trauma, inner conflicts, painful memories, and aging are the focus of my practice.

I am a Psychotherapist and a Doctor of Education with a unique blend of experience, expertise, and resources. Therapy clients appreciate how I get to their core issues in caring and sensitive ways---without blame, shame, or guilt. Consultation clients receive clear and reliable responses to their questions, and a sense of direction with next steps.

I work with adults, couples, parents, and professionals. I also offer child observation sessions. I am comfortable and skilled with verbal and nonverbal therapies, including cognitive, solution-focused, mind-body, psychodynamic, image-based and dream therapies.
I am an EMDR clinician and a Jungian-based Sandplay therapist.

I believe good therapy and counseling offers you space---a kind of breathing space for your spirit. Whether we are meeting for therapy, counseling, or consultation, I consider my office your personal sanctuary---a place to feel safe, heard, and validated.

Helping you increase hope, reduce stress, and live your life in healthy and meaningful ways is at the heart of my practice. For more information, to schedule an appointment, or arrange a complimentary consultation, contact me directly by e-mail or phone, or visit my websites. I look forward to speaking with you!

More Info About My Practice
AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

1. MIDLIFE is a special focus in my practice. I work with men and women in midlife who are seeking clarity, relief, and guidance. During our middle years, life becomes unfamiliar, relationships change (and so do we). How you navigate the twists and turns of midlife directly affects how you will live your life in later years. My new book, Midlife Check-In: A Guide for Women, is being published this year.

2. GIFTEDNESS: I am professionally trained in counseling and therapy for gifted and talented individuals and couples. The unique social-emotional needs, challenges, and risks that they face can be confusing and misleading. I provide therapeutic support for meeting the emotional needs and for reducing the risks giftedness can bring. I also consult with parents of gifted children and make presentations to schools and others in the community.
