My Approach to Helping
People seek me out as a therapist because there is some degree of dissatisfaction or unhappiness in their lives or relationships. They may have any number of concerns including: irritability, worry, depression or physical symptoms such as restlessness, difficulty sleeping, pain, anxiety or discomfort. They may know pretty well why they feel the way they do, or they may feel thoroughly confused.
The focus of my work is not limited to only treating symptoms, but also to making one's life and relationships function. I am engaging and compassionate in my approach. I start each new client out with an assessment so we can choose together the right goals to work on. Helping you develop new skills to manage your behaviors, thoughts and actions is primary. When you leave therapy you should be living life in a very different way.
I am unwavering in my commitment to facilitating an authentic and lasting satisfaction in the lives of the people I support and help. I value a Change Oriented + Compassion Driven approach.
I have been providing counseling based services to the community since 1995. I have a Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from City University in Seattle Washington. I also belong to both the BC Association of Clinical Counselors and the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association.
