My Approach to Helping
I see counseling as a collaborative process between client and counselor.I believe in working to identify people's inner strenths and external resources with an eye toward increasing healing, health, and interior freedom and peace. I employ an eclectic combination of several therapeutic approaches in working with clients individually including Gestalt, person-centered, existential, and cognitive behavioral approaches. I follow a family systems approach in working with couples and families. I am open to working with clients from a variety of cultural and spiritual backgrounds. I have over 23 years experience in teaching clients communication skills, anger and time management, stress reduction, and job seeking skills.
