My Approach to Helping
When making a decision to change your life for the better it can cause some anxiety. Change can be scary even if it is positive. When working with someone on the changes you form a new perspective by an unbiased party. No one is going to judge you or accuse you. I am here to help my clients feel better & live better. It is important for me to know what is the goals of my clients so that I can best assist them to achieve them.
More Info About My Practice
I use a sliding fee scale. What that means is that hourly rate is based on income. I do accept some insurance. There may be a small co-pay because I am an out of network provider. It is important for my clients to feel comfortable with me so there is a screening prior to the initial assessment.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to act as a tool for my clients. When a client comes to my office it's usually because they have used all of the tools in their tool belts so to speak and nothing has worked. As a trained professional I offer insight as to why what they have done hasn't work and alternate solutions.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
I have been blessed so to speak. Growing up I made my life more difficult than it had to be at times. I even felt misunderstood. After I completed my undergraduate degree I taught at a school for troubled teens. I worked with the teens and their families to build better lives. That inspired me to continue my education in counseling putting me where I am today.
