My Approach to Helping

My focus in working with clients is to help clients gain and maintain control of themselves and their lives despite present and past obstacles, stresses, and trauma.

More Info About My Practice

I see clients in person. I accept most insurances and charge fees for those who do not have insurance. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or refer anyone to me who is looking for a therapist. If you are interested in having groups run at my office or in the community, I would be more than happy to do so. How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy helps people obtain the tools to help themselves through life's challenges. It helps people to see the areas of their lives where they can have control and assume that control. It helps people build themselves and their lives into something healthy.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

No-one in life is perfect. We all have issues that we have to deal with and resolve. This is part of being human. The issues do not have to define who you are. People are not their issues. People have issues. Having issues or needing help to resolve issues does not make a persoon weak. Being able to recognize issues, the need to work on and resolve these issues, and the need for help with these issues shows strength and a willingess to see oneself as human. The work to counter this thinking would involve reframing and redefining what therapy means as well as what being human means. Working towards self-love and self-acceptance despite having issues would also come in to play.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

I base all of this on the individual. The client ultimately decides when therapy is complete. Therapy takes as long or as short as the client decides and how often I see clients is determined by the individual client.
