My Approach to Helping
Do you sometimes wonder if your relationship is working out? Do you resent or feel betrayed by your partner? Are you genuinely concerned about your relationship? These feelings are not uncommon; but they do require an uncommon approach. A direct, but non-judgemental guide can help you and your partner improve your relationship. My approach focuses on helping intelligent, otherwise productive couples get unstuck. If you are stuck in a repeating pattern of arguments about money, parenting, sex or role expectations, it is likely that my approach will work for you. I help couples learn to identify their differing individual communication styles and then help them embrace and respect rather than fear these differences. If you sometimes feel as though you and your partner are 'too different' then you are likely a good candidate for my communication-based approach. It really is possible to regain love, respect and a sense of true partnership. My approach is uniquely focused on transforming HOW you both communicate. I can help you resist the toxic temptation to 'fix' one another and help you bring joy to your relationship. Most couples who see me find improvement in a modest number of sessions. My psychology degree is from the University of Pennsylvania and my graduate training in Couples & Family Therapy was completed at the University of Oregon. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and have specialized training in working with couples. I am also a published author on couples-communication best-practice and the treatment of infidelity. Learn more at www.eugenetherapy.com.
