My Approach to Helping

I understand counseling as a relationship based on trust and careful, respectful listening; my role is to collaborate with you to clarify your concerns, and to chart a path for growth and healing.

Depression, relationship stress, anxiety and traumatic experiences can intrude on our life journey, and interfere with our ability to lead the life we hope for. Counseling is a creative process that leads toward freedom from these burdens. Counseling offers insight that allows you to see yourself differently, to recognize your strengths, and supports you as you envision what comes next. My approach to counseling is eclectic, using a variety of approaches depending on the unique needs and concerns of the individual client.

My practice includes two types of online services: mental health counseling and spiritual guidance. Sometimes a person experiences distress or feelings of emptiness that do not indicate an emotional problem, but rather an unfinished search for meaning, for their true self, or for a sense of being at home in the world. Spiritual guidance can be helpful with these concerns. It is not specifically religious, but explores the spiritual dimension in everyday experience.
