My Approach to Helping

I'm a warm, creative, experienced clinical psychologist who tries to understand a client's experience from the inside out. My sessions are usually interactive and lively since I am committed to providing a supportive, collaborative and empathic space. I think psychodynamically but my approach is individualized. I'm open to using different approaches (emotional, cognitive, 12-step, spiritual/religious). I believe that those who understand their strengths, vulnerabilities and relationship patterns are more likely to remove obstacles to change, enjoy intimacy and succeed at work. I'm especially interested in relationships, specializing in treatment of infidelity, addiction, co-dependence, commitment fears and separation anxiety. A good match in therapy invoplves certain chemistry essential for beneficial outcome. The initial consultation is a good time to explore my approach directly and to get a feel for how I work.

More Info About My Practice

I have morning, afternoon and evening appointments available Mondays through Saturdays. I am only available Saturdays in my Port Washington, LI office. There is also a greater likelihood of open evening appointments there but I do work three evenings per week in NYC. Give me a call and let's see if we can set up an appointment at a time that is convenient for you. Reaching out is often the biggest challenge...
