My Approach to Helping

Seeking help when life's challenges have come to the forefront of our daily living, can feel daunting. Know that you are not alone and help is available. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, the core of my therapeutic work lies in creating a trusting and safe environment to explore the struggles you may be facing. We work together tapping into your strengths and values, helping guide you to a new potential in your sense of self and relationships, bringing more balance and peace in your daily life. Seeking help can take courage, but with treatment you can lead a better and more fulfilling life.

More Info About My Practice

My work as a therapist has involved working with a spectrum of mental health issues, with an emphasis on anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, abuse and couples therapy. I am an EMDR Trained Clinician, which allows me the expertise to work with those who have experienced trauma or other distressing events in their lives. I have also been working extensively with chronic pain sufferers and those struggling with grief and loss. I have been certified in the Grief Recovery Method, and have received advanced training in Mindfulness and Psychotherapy.
In my couples work, I explore with the couple the hurts, fears, unmet needs and defenses each partner brings to their relationship and how it can keep them stuck in the cycle of hurt and conflict. This process opens up the possibility for growth, a deeper understanding and connection for healing of the relationship.
I accept most insurances. Please feel free to contact me for any questions you have about the counseling process. A complimentary phone consultation is available.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

We all deal with difficulties at some time or another in our lives. However, to some seeking help can feel like a weakness or a sign of defectiveness. The reality is seeking help can take courage and is a sign of taking care of our personal needs. My goal is to help you see that your feelings of "brokenness" are actually part of being human and offer a possibility of healing, growth and deeper understanding.
