My Approach to Helping

Linda is an experienced educator and counselor. In addition to a doctorate in education she holds a second masters degree in human relations with a Licensed Professional Counseling certification. She offers Christian counseling for children, adults, and families. Linda has a special interest in working with trauma from adoption choices, anxiety, childhood experiences, depression, divorce, difficulty in making decisions, and unhealthy relationships. Individual, family, and group counseling are offered for all ages as indicated by an initial assessment. Successful counseling happens in a safe and relational environment.

More Info About My Practice

Breakthrough Counseling offers out of network benefit insurance filing for everyone. Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, some EAPs, Coventry, Global, and self pay accepted. Payment may be made by credit card or check at the time of service. Advance payment and time of service discounts are offered for self pay clients.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Adoption issues are a specific interest because of my extensive research. I enjoy working with people whose thoughts are creating depression, anxiety, and relationship problems. Working with children and helping translate the way they think to the adults in their lives is important to the well being of the family. Families are important and create the foundation for the mental health of society.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Psychotherapy allows people to be more aware of who they are and how much they have to offer. Psychotherapy creates an environment for people to feel safe and express themselves with freedom to allow unspoken issues to surface. When unspoken issues surface the work can begin to constructively change, reduce anxiety, and live more peacefully.
