My Approach to Helping
Why therapy? Our relationships, life circumstances, or family history might weigh us down. Perhaps there is a past trauma that has left us depressed, angry, or unable to connect with others. Often, it is a desire to understand ourselves better, to grow in ways both personal and relational, which leads us to seek support Change is difficult, but it is possible.

My approach to psychotherapy is warm, non-judgmental, collaborative, and conversational. I generally work from a psychodynamic perspective, but often incorporate additional approaches to best meet the needs of my clients. I use elements of play therapy and art therapy in my work with children.

I have a special interest in working with expecting and new mothers. Becoming a parent is both exciting and hugely challenging, and extra support can make a significant impact on the lives of both mother and infant. I have experience working with women who are experiencing postpartum depression, attachment-related issues, and/or anxiety around making the transition to parenthood.
