My Approach to Helping
People need not be defined by the problems they experience. Through counseling, people are empowered to experience strengthening and restoration within their lives and their relationships. My approach is person-centered and solution-focused, based on a recovery model. We work together to break down what impairs and inhibits functioning and happiness, while building up the skills and traits that invigorate and enhance well-being. The pursuit of change is not easy, and the first step is often the most difficult. My office provides a safe, comfortable, and confidential setting. It is an accessible location, and appointments are scheduled to be as convenient as possible for you. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, conflicted relationships, marriage problems, and parenting are typical concerns people bring into my office to discuss. As a mental health practitioner since 2000, and with over 10 years experience in administrative and consulting roles for corporate and human service organizations, my experience and training have given me the expertise and skills to help my clients experience the healing they desire.
More Info About My Practice
Please see my website for more information on my practice. When looking for a counselor, it is important not only to find someone you like and trust, but also someone with the appropriate training and skills to provide the services you are seeking. Please check that the credentials advertised by a practitioner represent a level of expertise. The initials "MA" or "MS" suggest an individual has attained a masters level degree, which is a minimum accepted standard for people practicing in the helping professions. The letters "LMHC," "NCC," and "LPC" indicate state or national certification as a counselor. The letters "LLC" or "PLLC" are related to a type of business structure, and say nothing about an individual's training or expertise.
