My Approach to Helping
I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. Each person has a unique story to share, and has unique challenges they face. I believe clients are the experts, and many of the answers to their questions dwell within. My role is to assist clients with clarifying their needs and helping them to come up with solutions. I also believe there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" model of therapy; therefore, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship which is unique to each client. You are important to me, and my goal is to help you achieve the results you desire.

My clients represent the full spectrum of humanity: young/old, rich/poor, gay/straight/bisexual/transgendered, religious/spiritual/agnostic/atheist, and various cultures and heritages.

I can use play therapy in one session and turn around and use cognitive restructuring in the next. Big words which simply mean I'm flexible in my approach and use of therapeutic techniques.

I enjoy working with children and families where autism spectrum disorders are present. People with Autism and Asperger's have a unique view of the world, which often challenges me and my view of the world. Using social skills, modeling empathy, and addressing social development needs are important to this population. Supporting the families via support groups and individual/family therapy are important resources I also provide.

That's enough about me. I want to know about you. How can I help you achieve your goals and fulfill your dreams?

More Info About My Practice
My office is conveniently located at Fieldstone Presbyterian Church which is located at 804 Fieldstone Road in Mooresville, near Mooresville High School and South Elementary School. Here are some frequently asked questions which you may find helpful:

Q: Do I have to be "religious" in order to use your services?
A: Absolutely not!

Q: If I'm not "religious" will you try to make me?
A: That would be unethical -- so absolutely not.

Q: Since your office is in a church, are there any topics I cannot talk about with you?
A: You are free to talk about whatever you need to talk about. My therapy includes issues of sexuality, sexual identity, and other issues which some consider to be "taboo."

Q: Do you work with people from the GLBT community?
A: Absolutely I do. And no, I don't try to "change" them into being straight. And no, I don't believe they are any more sinful than anybody else in the world.

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: Currently I do not. I provide you with a receipt which you can use to get reimbursed by your insurance company.

Q: How much do you charge?
A: My rate is $100 per 50 minute session.

Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: I accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

Q: Do you offer a sliding fee scale?
A: I do for those with a verifiable financial need.

Q: Do you offer payment arrangements?
A: I offer convenient, no-interest payment plans for those who need it. This requires signing a contract agreeing to pay for all services utilized, and also requires a credit card for automatic, recurring payments.

Q: What are your hours?
A: Tuesdays (9am-9pm), Thursdays (9am-9pm), Fridays (9am - 6pm), Saturdays (9am - 2pm)

Q: How do I make an appointment?
A: The simplest and most convenient way is to visit my website and book online 24/7. You may also call me at 704-928-9390 to schedule.
