My Approach to Helping
Personal struggles, when worked through therapeutically, can be a great facilitator in one?s journey towards inner peace, strength, and love. Helping people to live more balanced and healthy lives is my passion. My interests have led me to obtain a Bachelor?s Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am also a yoga teacher with close to 10 experience and over 1,000 hours in training. I have also studied yoga in Mysore, India on two occasions for a total of 10 weeks. I have experience providing psychological counseling and yoga to people of all ages who are suffering through various emotional and physical difficulties.
I provide traditional psychological counseling as well as a unique form of therapy that I call Holistic Counseling. Holistic Counseling is a combination of mental health counseling, life coaching, meditation, breathing techniques and if appropriate yoga posture practice. Holistic Counseling can be highly beneficial for those suffering from anxiety, depression, substance dependence, relationship issues, and eating disorders, in addition to those who are feeling overstressed and unsatisfied with life. Holistic Counseling is great for individuals of all ages including children and adolescents, as well as couples. In traditional and Holistic Counseling, clients have the space to express themselves openly, without judgment, to examine emotions, cognitions, body related issues, nutrition, sexuality, basic life and career concerns, and more. Both forms of therapy provide a strength-based approach that emphasizes strengths instead of deficits. As a Counselor, I provide information, motivation, empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness to you.
It is my honor to assist and guide people in finding their own strength, healing, and solutions to life's difficulties.
