My Approach to Helping

Palo Alto Smart Therapy is a group of experienced therapists who all have the combination of intelligence and warmth that facilitates real emotional, neurological change. We work with our clients to use the present moment of challenge to grow stronger, more present and more self-aware. We do more than traditional talk therapy. We help people change their brains.

More Info About My Practice

Finding a therapist who gets you, your particular view of the world and who can get behind your goals is very important. When the synergy is there between therapist and client, the work can be extremely productive and meaningful. At Palo Alto Smart Therapy, we are known for helping smart professionals get unstuck, feel more in control and find balance.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am a former technology and management consultant and understand how highly competent, driven, creative people in consuming jobs can lose track of who they are and what they want. My passion is helping them move beyond feeling stuck to find balance and flow. At Palo Alto Smart Therapy, I brought together a group of like-minded therapists who know how to work with busy, driven professionals rather than frustrate them with therapy talk that doesn't apply to them.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

We need to know our clients' goals. If those goals are to feel better, to get more out of life, and to stop working against themselves, one of our therapiuts at Palo Alto Smart Therapy can be very helpful.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

If you're ambivalent, talk to a few therapists to see what they think about the possibility of helping you achieve your goals. Pay special attention to how they treat your goals. If they don't focus on what you want to accomplish (rather than what they think you need), talk to the next person. It can take some time to find the right person. Keep looking until you find them!

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

The more I'm able to look at (and act on) what I need in my life, the better able I am to serve my clients. That challenge is one of my favorite parts of being a therapist. To do my work authentically, I have to walk my talk. One thing our therapists at Palo Alto Smart Therapy have in common is we are all committed to doing our own psychological work so we can be fully present with our clients.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

Our clients determine if therapy is complete. We review goals and progress often.
