My Approach to Helping
Are you feeling over-whelmed, worried, stressed, confused, or conflicted within relationships to the point where it feels tough to manage everything by yourself? Are these feelings impacting your daily life, possibly causing you to struggle with how you see yourself and your choices? Oftentimes life's abundance of challenges and opportunities can interfere with our vision of ourselves and our lives. I'll work with you to develop a therapeutic plan to reach your goals and ultimately feel better and more confident now and in the future no matter what obstacles or distractions may arise.
My training as a professional transpersonal counselor can help you develop new skills to calm stress, worry, and overwhelm and experience more daily contentment. We will also look at what is working for you and expand on that. My experience includes self-esteem, Bipolar, depression & anxiety, grief and loss, transitions, spirituality, chronic pain, and identity.
I will gather feedback from you during every session to tailor my approach to truly fit your needs. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic models, which allows me to do this. I look forward to working together to resolve distress, cultivate awareness, and build greater life satisfaction.
More Info About My Practice
My fee is $100/session. I can accept cash, check, or money order. I will not work directly with insurance companies; however, if you are interested in pursuing insurance reimbursement for services received I can provide you with a monthly statement to submit. Depending on clients' need and availability within my caseload I offer sliding scale fees.
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Typically I see that suppressing emotions is more painful and overwhelming than working to resolve them. Once a safe place exists to share and understand difficult feelings many people sense immediate relief. There is of course a process to work with feelings, which can feel difficult, but it is equally rewarding. Climbing a mountain isn't easy either, but the view from the top is priceless.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Therapy is as long as you want it to be because you are in the driver's seat. We will assess this together to make sure your needs are being met and if they evolve over time and therefore need to adjust the focus or style of our work. Weekly visits are most common because therapy is a practice like anything else, but we can meet more or less frequently depending on your circumstances.
