My Approach to Helping

I will work with you to build trust and communication and my goal is to help you get from where you are now to where you want to be. I practice art psychotherapy, talk therapy, and human compassion, mindfulness, and awareness. Whether you are seeking help with a specific issue or simply looking for a safe place to be, I am here and I look forward to being here with you. I offer an initial session which, if you want to continue working with me you pay for, but if it doesn't feel like a good fit for you is no cost out of pocket for you. It is important to find someone whom you trust and I hope that you find that in me.

More Info About My Practice

I am a trained art therapist with a Master's Degree in Psychology with a dual emphasis in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in community mental health clinics with the hearing, Deaf, deaf, and hard of hearing populations. I have worked in clinics and for various agencies providing families, couples, children, and individuals counseling. I utilize many theoretical approaches. I always operate from a culturally sensitive, person centered approach and depending on your needs, pull from a wide array of theoretical orientations. A key tenet to my therapeutic style is a belief that all people have inherent wisdom and that through the creative process of therapy, solutions to all of life's problems exist. You may be seeking therapy due to anxiety, interpersonal pain, relational discord, dissatisfaction with one or many areas of your life, listlessness, overwhelming anger, loneliness, a desire for a deeper sense of self, depression, or any number of other of life's problems or any combination of these. I believe that many problems are gifts as they provide us opportunity for change and growth. My rates are $90/hour and I do have a limited number of sliding scale options.
