My Approach to Helping

I believe that every individual has the right and the ability to find happiness. I am a trained Psychotherapist who will assist each individual, couple, or family towards self recovery and fulfillment. I am a specialist in addictions work and I provide a cognitive-behavioral approach vs. focus on 12-step work. If my client wants to use the 12-step model I will assist in this approach however, due to the high number of treatment agency's using 12-step, I believe that there must be an alternative for people who this approach does not work for. You can find an alternative recovery approach in my therapy practice. I believe strongly that it is an honor to work with people in their most vulnerable of times and I take a respect approach to all who enter my practice. There is not a problem or a situation that I would judge or not offer my expertise. It is with a respect model that my client's find wellness and a new sense of self pride. Please visit my websites http://confidentialtreatment.net/ or http://www.discreet-psychotherapy.com to view my Curriculum Vitae ~ I offer a free telephone consultation so that I may better understand how I may be able to help you or a loved one ~ The two websites differ in that the first is more for legal and addiction issues and the second is more for private psychotherapy. I am honored that you took the time to view my profile. If I cannot help you I will assist if a referral.

Groups I Work With

  • Hello and Welcome! My name is Kathryn and I have been working in this field for 15 years. I am a psychotherapist who offers a wide array of services. I invite you to call or email if you are looking for a service that you do not see listed. My agency is Confidential Treatment Options. Under the umbrella of Confidential Treatment Options is a state licensed drug and alcohol treatment agency which provides assessments both for legal and non-legal purposes, discreet individual treatment sessions, family recovery, and support groups of varying natures. The second part of CTO is my private psychotherapy practice which offers a comfortable and confidential experience. I work with medical, psychiatric, mental health, addictions, and have experience with a vast array of scenarios and I there is not a situation or confession that I would judge. I have many specialties including addiction recovery, men's issues including both adolescent and adult men, and legal issues, couples, and sexual issues. I work with individuals, couples, and families. If I can not help you I will assist in a referral. ALTERNATIVES TO 12-STEP RECOVERY I believe that there are enough agencies and therapists providing traditional drug/alcohol abuse or dependency treatment with Alcoholics Anonymous. I will provide this care if it is a good fit, however I work primarily with patients who want an alternative to the twelve-step approach. SUBOXONE PATIENTS As the rise of opiate abuse and dependence increases, a drug like Suboxone may help numerous patients get back to being in control of their lives. I have taken various steps to ensure my role as a Suboxone Expert. Physicians have rigorous training with testing to ensure the reliability of their knowledge. After medication, therapy is vital towards recovery. To ensure the best outcome I have achieved the same education and testing standards as your physician. I would be pleased to be part of your recovery process and the certainty of your success and growth. THERAPY FOR CHRONIC DISEASES AND STRESS RELATED DISEASE My practice offers a serene non-judgemental setting for those suffering from chronic pain, pain afflictions, and psychological stress, anxiety, depression and other disorders as a result of chronic disease. MENS' ISSUES Our society may appear geared towards helping women. Many men face their questions, concerns, and painful issues on their own. There are spas, therapists, clubs, and many other places for women to heal yet there are not so many choices for men. My practice provides services to both men and women. I do however specialize in men's issues. I have been working with men for fifteen years, I work with both young men and adult men. I approach men's concerns with a non-judgemental ear, an interactive approach and a highly experienced background of working with the types of issues that gentleman may bring into therapy. I strive to provide a safe environment that you can restore wellness to your life. I have several specialty licenses and training. Please inquire on how I may help you.
