My Approach to Helping
Therapy is a shared journey toward healing and toward the creation of your best life. My goal as your therapist will be to walk beside you on this journey. My goal is not to give you advice, tell you what's wrong with you, or to make you change things you're not ready to change. Instead, I understand that YOU are the expert on you. It is my job and my hope to bring compassion, experience, and understanding to aid you along your journey. Together we can create the synergistic relationship through which true healing can occur. By sifting through layers of traumas and other painful life experiences, we can rediscover your core, authentic self. Together, we can journey toward true peace and joy, toward healed relationships, and toward the creation of your very best life.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
My primary area of specialization is in trauma healing and recovery, as well as related issues such as relationship challenges, emotional regulation, and the dissociative disorders. I am passionate about helping people who have been through trauma understand their painful internal experiences, become aware that it is not their fault and that they are not "crazy," and learn to live healthy, satisfying and full lives. I have completed extensive post-graduate training in working PTSD, complex PTSD, and the dissociative disorders, and am part of an ongoing supervision group as well as a peer consultation group both centered on the treatment of survivors of trauma.
