My Approach to Helping
I believe that every person has the seeds for their own growth and that I can help them learn to water those seeds to make them grow. I help you build on strengths that you already possess and maybe don't know you have. Getting to know you and helping you get to know yourself is my primary goal. I will provide you with a space where you are respected and not judged.

More Info About My Practice
I take Aetna, Pacific Source, and Cigna. I take cash, checks and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover). If you can't afford my regular fee ($90 for a one-hour individual session; $125 for a one-hour couple or family session), I will work with you to enable you to receive the help you need. Your initial consultation is free.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love to hear people talk about those "aha!" moments--those moments when everything comes together and they can say "so that's what's been happening here". When that happens, it means that they can never go back to not knowing because the knowledge is there and readily available to them. Those "aha" moments are the life-altering realizations that keep me excited about the field I've chosen. I believe that we all have feelings that we just can't cope with from time to time and that if I can help someone cope with those feelings and gain understanding it makes my life richer.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to help my clients understand how their past affects their present. It is to give them a safe space to explore issues that bring up feelings of shame, fear, or anger in a way that will be listened to and validated. It is also the space where they don't get advice or further shaming but can explore how these feelings impact them and to work through them. I am an active participant in the process as we work together as equals.
