Karen Hofmann, Ph.D., Continuing Education Committee Member

Karen Hofmann Dr. Karen Hofmann is the Associate Director and Director of Training at the University of Central Florida's Counseling Center. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida, and an experienced therapist who has been seeing clients as well as teaching new therapist about the practice of psychotherapy. She maintains a part time private practice in the greater Orlando, Florida area. Karen started working as a therapist in 1989 at the Alcohol and Drug Outpatient Program in Austin, Texas. She went on to earn her MS in Educational Psychology in 1992, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology in 1998 from Texas A&M University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Texas A&M University Counseling Center. She has been practicing psychology for the last 17 years, and her professional areas of interest and specialization are relationships and family issues, women/gender issues, trauma/abuse recovery, identity development, sexual orientation, identity and expression issues, social justice, group process, training and supervision. She is currently a board member for the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA) .
