My Approach to Helping
I believe that seeking psychotherapy is healthy and proactive and that we could all benefit from therapy or counseling at different points in our lives. I feel that a good therapeutic relationship is critical to successful therapy and I aim to really understand my clients and develop collaborative relationships. My therapeutic style is warm and empathic and also direct and active. My theoretical orientation is client-centered, strengths-based and psychodynamic. I incorporate therapeutic techniques that I see would be most effective for each client, including cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR and other interventions. Overall, I help my clients achieve higher self-esteem, overall wellness and balance, and increased happiness personally and professionally. I very much enjoy the work that I do and find it to be extremely rewarding.
