My Approach to Helping
Do You Ever Ask Yourself: Is This As Good As It Gets?

Relationship Issues Creating Doubt and Resentment In You?

Have You Lost Interest With Even Your Day-To-Day activites?

Working with a trained and skilled counselor that has helped people in similar situations could be a powerful way to help you overcome the difficulties in your life. No problem is too big or too small. Individual counseling has the advantage of privacy, one-to-one focus, and is more likely to elicit honest self-evaluation of you and your needs.

When you come to counseling, you can expect a collaborative relationship between us; a relationship that is open, supportive but also one that promotes change through action. Through the skill of self-evaluation, you will learn to identify and change limiting beliefs and behaviors and to replace those with effective life skills. The goal is not just to feel better but to be better!

More Info About My Practice
While I do accept a very limited number of insurances like Tri-Care and Military One-Source, I am a fee-for-service provider, and I do offer a sliding scale on a case-by-case basis. There are many reasons why I limit myself from accepting insurance. I'll explain some of the reasons briefly here:

First: I avoid as much as possible labeling(diagnosing) my clients with "mental illnesses" or "disorders" which almost all insurances require in order to reimburse for and approve treatment.

Second: Confidentiality is of the utmost importance! Most insurance companies sometimes require information about a client's most troubling problem in order to justify treatment. The provider may be required to provide not only a diagnosis, but also a treatment plan and progress notes

Third: Most insurances give a limited number of sessions to clients. This can put undo pressure and tension in having to "solve" your problems within a limited timeframe. I want my clients to have the freedom to discuss and determine with me the best course of counseling.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

At the end of the day, relationships aren’t mysterious. All of us share basic inherent needs like; connection, love, belonging, freedom and joy. Consequently, there are certain basic skills and relationship habits that can be developed that nurtures and strengthens your relationships. The method we use in relationship counseling is collaborative with a solution-focus approach. But, before any real change can happen, you need to have a real reason to change! We work together to find out what a satisfying relationship looks like to you in the first place no matter what kind of relationship your pursuing. You will be shown how to leverage three instinctive character traits that you have absolute control over, which could drastically close the emotional-gap between you and the people that are important to you! You will learn to think and act in ways that builds closeness instead of distance and to create healthy relationship habits that satisfies the the most basic of all human needs.
