My Approach to Helping
Everyone encounters problems in their lives. Most of us, most of the time, feel able to overcome them or at least weather the storm and find a way forward. Yet most of us, at some point in our lives, face problems which feel overwhelming and for which we need outside help. Regardless of how severe or long-standing your problems are I am confident I can help. Learning new ways of being and adjusting how we take care of ourselves and our life can and should be empowering, positive, and uplifting.

I have extensive experience with Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Family Systems, Motivational Enhancement and Mindfulness-based approaches to psychological health and symptom reduction. I invite you to journey with me into an empathic, clear and productive relationship where you will have the opportunity and support to discover your inherent wisdom and adaptive nature.

I am here to help you sort through your unique situation using your own perceptions and strengths. Treatment is focused on changing thought patterns, behavioral habits, and emotional narratives that no longer serve you. I bring warmth and energy to every session with the wholehearted expectation that we will achieve our goals together.

More Info About My Practice
Overall, my style is warm, engaging, and goal-oriented. I find that most people benefit from a strong interplay between our work together and practicing independently. Therefore I often conduct individual psychotherapy with clients for 3-4 months of weekly sessions followed by 2-4 weeks of time spent independent of therapy. This time can help you incorporate and investigate new understandings and practices and identify areas that may need further work or clarification. This process can help keep psychotherapy effective and economical, its also flexible and can be adjusted depending on what is best.

Beginning therapy takes some courage and can often be a difficult step. Let's talk to see if I am someone you want to put your trust in and to determine if psychotherapy is the right answer for you today.
