My Approach to Helping

I am psyco-dynamically oriented and client centered. At times, I may help a client examine his or her past, recognize negative themes and patterns, examine the way thoughts affect feelings, and identify how core beliefs (those acquired during childhood) may hinder or restrict one's experience as an adult. I actively work with clients to improve their ability to function and cope with life related stressors by exploring alternative ways of perceiving situations and examining how external or environmental factors contribute to what is going on in their lives. When working with clients, I take an affirmative, empowering approach to treatment by maintaining a non-judgemental, supportive position.
