My Approach to Helping

All individuals have within themselves the power to heal themselves given a safe, supportive, non-pathologizing therapeutic relationship within which to learn and heal. All "symptoms", from the mild to the most extreme, are really 'behavior solutions' that have allowed the individual to manage their lives but that currently may impede one's ability to lead a fuller, more effective life. I always offer a free initial consultation.

More Info About My Practice

I've been trained intensively in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and with other approaches - e.g., EMDR, Imago relationship therapy, psycho-dynamic - are used to fit the the individual client(s) unique needs.

Groups I Work With

  • I often work with clients who, either through diagnosis or self-diagnosis, have been over-pathologized with labels such as borderline personality disorder when the underlying issues are related to various aspects of trauma and abuse. I have been intensely trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and combine that with other psychodynamic approaches. I work non-judgmentally and collaboratively with the client toward the ultimate goal of a life of worth and meaning.
